Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By adding, configuring or otherwise using the Gargoyle Discord bot ("the Bot", "Gargoyle"), you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Bot. Gargoyle is part of SpartanBots, owned by AestheticSpartan.

2. Eligibility

You must meet Discord's minimum age requirement and comply with the Discord Terms of Service and Community Guidelines at all times while using the Bot.

3. The Service

Gargoyle provides Discord support-ticketing: private-thread tickets, claim/escalate/close/reopen workflows, durable HTML/JSON transcripts, and a browser-based setup dashboard. Features may change, improve, or be removed over time.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: use the Bot to harass, abuse, threaten or harm others or to store unlawful content; exploit, overload, reverse-engineer for malicious purposes, disrupt or gain unauthorized access to the Bot, its dashboard or infrastructure; violate Discord's terms, applicable law or the rights of others; or abuse the ticket system (e.g. spam ticket creation) to degrade the service for others.

5. Server Operator & Staff Responsibilities

Server administrators are responsible for how they configure Gargoyle, who they grant staff roles to, and how tickets and transcripts are handled. Operators must inform their members, where legally required, that ticket conversations may be recorded into transcripts, and must handle transcripts (which may contain personal data) responsibly and in line with applicable law.

6. Availability

We strive for high uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. The Bot may be unavailable due to maintenance, Discord outages, hosting issues, or factors outside our control.

7. Donations

Gargoyle is free with no paywalls. Optional contributions via Patreon or Ko-fi support SpartanBots and do not unlock any required Gargoyle functionality. Contributions are generally non-refundable except where required by law.

8. Intellectual Property

The Gargoyle name, branding, and original assets belong to AestheticSpartan / SpartanBots. You retain ownership of the content your community creates within tickets.

9. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

The Bot is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, AestheticSpartan and SpartanBots are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Bot.

10. Termination

We may suspend or restrict access for violations of these Terms or Discord's terms. You may stop using the Bot at any time by removing it from your server.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated by updating this page and, where appropriate, via the support server. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
