Introduction
TerraBot is a SpartanBots project, owned and maintained by AestheticSpartan. TerraBot is currently in development: the Discord bot is not yet live. This policy covers what the website does today and what the bot will do when it launches. When the bot goes live, this page will be updated and the effective date bumped.
This Website
This site is a static page hosted on GitHub Pages. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and contains no trackers or ad scripts.
- GitHub Pages serves the site and, like any web host, may log standard request data (IP address, user agent) per GitHub's privacy statement.
- Google Fonts supplies the typefaces, which means your browser requests font files from Google's servers when the page loads.
That is the complete list. We see none of this data ourselves.
Data the Bot Will Collect (Planned)
When TerraBot launches, it will store the minimum needed to run a persistent collection game:
- Discord user ID (a numeric ID, not your email or password) to tie your terrariums, bugs, and currency to you.
- Discord server ID and channel IDs where the bot is configured, to scope settings per server.
- Game state: your bugs, traits, codex entries, currencies, items, cooldowns, and leaderboard stats.
- Command usage tied to game actions (for example, the timestamp of your last daily claim).
TerraBot will not read or store message content outside its own commands, and will never collect emails, passwords, or payment details. Payments, if you choose to support the project, run entirely through Patreon or Ko-fi under their own policies.
How Data Will Be Used
- Running the game: collections, care timers, breeding, shops, and leaderboards.
- Cross-bot features within the SpartanBots family (for example, shared premium currency balances).
- Debugging and abuse prevention (rate-limit and exploit detection).
Data is never sold, rented, or shared with advertisers.
Data Storage and Security
Game data will be stored in Supabase (hosted Postgres) with access restricted to the bot's server-side credentials. No system is perfectly secure, but access is limited to what the game needs to function.
Third-Party Services
- Discord: the platform the bot runs on, under Discord's privacy policy.
- Supabase: database hosting.
- GitHub Pages and Google Fonts: this website.
- Patreon / Ko-fi: optional support, handled entirely on their platforms.
Your Rights
You can ask what data is stored about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Depending on where you live (for example, under GDPR or similar laws), these may be legal rights; we honor them for everyone regardless.
Data Deletion
Once the bot is live, a self-service delete command is planned. Until then (and any time after), you can request deletion in the SpartanBots support server or via a GitHub issue on the TerraBot repository. Deleting your data deletes your collection; there is no undo.
Children's Privacy
TerraBot is intended for users who meet Discord's minimum age requirement (13, or higher where local law says so). We do not knowingly collect data from children below that age.
AI in Development
Parts of TerraBot's code, website, and design documents are built with the assistance of AI tools, reviewed by a human before shipping. No user data is fed to AI systems.
Changes to This Policy
This policy will change at least once: when the bot actually launches. Material changes are announced in the support server, and the effective date at the top always reflects the current version.
